Arts & Activities Administrator (Part Time)

About Us

The Centre is run by a Board of Trustees assisted by several Volunteers.   It is a busy place seven days a week. There are regular concerts, theatre productions, film shows, exhibitions of art and of local heritage. It is home to a wide range of activities including, yoga, pilates, creative arts, french, photography and tai chi.

About You

A well organised and self-motivated individual, possessing both excellent communication, interpersonal skills and social media. The ability to work well under pressure is a key requirement.

Job Description and Person Specification

Priorities of this role are administration, communication and liaison.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with users and hirers of the Centre
  • Ensuring hirers have access to the Centre as needed
  • Organising, arranging and managing facilities for the arts and community activities in the Centre
  • Administering the Centre’s activities, including  dealing with enquiries by telephone, email and in-person and  taking bookings and selling tickets
  • co-ordinating events
  • maintaining records of bookings and events
  • assisting with invoicing
  • maintaining  office systems
  • preparing cash floats for events.
  • Promoting the Centre’s values and amenities
  • Overseeing the general upkeep and appearance of the Centre

You will have:

 

Essential

  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with the public, trustees, partners and contributors at all levels 
  • IT skills  – social media, website, word processing, spreadsheets, simple databases
  • A high standard of written English and good communication skills 
Desirable
  • Familiarity with modern social media 
  • Experience of working in an arts centre 
  • Experience of working with volunteers 

You will be based at Spring Bank Arts Centre, New Mills, SK22 4BH
The normal hours of work will be 17.5 hours a week, to be worked as 3.5 hours each morning from Monday to Friday with a bit of flexibility on start and finish times. The rate of pay is £10 per hour
