We had a busy two days the weekend before the snow hit the High Peal here at Spring Bank Arts with two contrasting concerts.

On Saturday we welcomed back the Manchester Recorder Orchestra with original and well known works written and arranged especially for recorder orchestra. There were 49 players crammed onto our stage who together produced a unique and unforgettable sound. The standard of playing was very high and the whole thing was expertly directed by David Walsh and Ian Chesters.

On Sunday we hosted the Aquarius String Quartet who played Haydn and Mozart pieces. They were joined by Debbie on oboe and cor-anglais for works by Finzi and Vaughan Williams. The good sized audience were very impressed by the beautiful music and great venue. Our incredible volunteers did a fantastic job running the events and serving excellent cakes, coffee and tea. Congratulations to all involved!
