Mission Improbable

Presented by Opera Dudes

No ordinary double act, this wonderful duo rip up the rule book with a classy mix of opera, swing, show tunes and slapstick humour. Bringing formidable voices and a great deal of self-deprecating charm to a truly eclectic repertoire ranging from Verdi to Elvis, this is a gem of entertainment.

‘Conspicuously skilful performers… exhilarating.’ The Guardian

‘Enthralling.’ The Guardian

Grand Opera, West End showstoppers, heart-rending ballads, classical piano, ridiculous impressions and slapstick humour, all by one of the most unusual musical duos since Morecambe and Wise.

Following formal musical studies at Trinity College Cambridge, Tim Lole’s freelance career has encompassed performances with The Royal Opera House, City of Birmingham Touring Opera, Scottish Opera, Glyndebourne Opera and Opera North.

Neil Allen came to singing later than most, and via the unusual route of bricklayer / singing comedy duo hobbyist. After private training, however, Neil’s concert platform work has been extensive, and he has sung with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and the Orchestra of Opera North.

‘One moment members of the audience are moved to tears by the emotion of an intense operatic aria – the next they’re crying with laughter at slapstick humour and comedy impressions.’ Nottingham Post

‘Neil Allen’s sweet tenor voice was perfect.’ The Times
